Orbis UK is seeking to appoint a London-based Programme Officer on a permanent contract.
Overall Purpose of the Job
The Programme Officer is a member of the Programme Support Team (PST), whose role is to ensure compliance and management of major statutory grants, as well as being the programme resource for colleagues and trustees. He/she will coordinate the preparation for one of the Board sub-committees, maintain programme management information tools, act as a focal point for programme information and provide ad hoc programme support to colleagues.

By training medical staff, strengthening in-country eye care services, expanding quality eye care provision and preventing eye conditions, Orbis is able to make a significant contribution to the elimination of preventable blindness.
Orbis is seeking to appoint committed Trustees with relevant experience to participate on both the Board and one of the two sub-committees; the Programme Committee or the Audit Committee.
What the role involves:
- Ensuring that Orbis is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
- Ensuring that Orbis is complying with its governing document and the law
- Preparing for and attending Board meetings
- Preparing for and attending sub-committee meetings
- Supporting the staff of Orbis
- Attending occasional evening events
Location: Central London
